NCUSA and KCMA RECEIVED LIVELIHOOD FUNDS FROM REP NC— MOA SIGNING,AND PROJECTS LAUNCHED

As part of the advocacy of Representative Nancy A. Catamco in the provision of funds for livelihood programs and projects in the 2nd district of North Cotabato, the projects for two people’s organizations had been initiated.The Congresswoman granted the United Skylabers Association (NCUSA) P1.5 Million and P500,000.00 was awarded to the Kidapawan City Ministers Association (KCMA).  The two associations are just among the number organizations provided by Rep NC with livelihood financial assistance.

Commencement Exercises: First Ever in District II

For the very first time in the 2nd district of North Cotabato, a synchronized graduation of more the 300 scholars of the NurturingAccess for Nationally Competent Youth (NANCY) successfully transpired this November 17, 2011 at the Kidapawan City Gymnasium.  Five academic institutions joined efforts in the distribution of certificated for the scholars of the Congresswoman during the “Rep. Nancy A. Catamco Scholars Synchronized Commencement Exercises”.

50k livelihood aid for BHWs up

Amas, Kidapawan City – More than two thousand barangay health workers (BHWs) of the province returned home in high spirits after receiving some ‘blessings’ during the 2-day BHW Congress held at the provincial gym on November 21-22, 2011.

As she commended and thanked the BHWs for their dedication as health care providers in the communities, Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza, who earlier joined a joyful dance showdown with the BHWs, announced the Php50,000 livelihood assistance which will be given to every municipal federation. The governor graced the culmination activity yesterday morning.

Cotabato student leaders to join leadership peace camp

More than 200 student leaders coming from the 17 municipalities and 1 city of Cotabato province will gather for the 1stGov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza High School Leadership Peace Camp at the capitol grounds, Amas Kidapawan City from December 1 to 3, 2011.

The two and a half-day leadership peace camp is another initiative of the present administration to guide the participants through an exploration of non-violent principles and an analysis of social change and peace building.

CotProv backs proposal declaring Ligawasan Marsh as a protected area

The provincial government of Cotabato is backing the proposed declaration of the Ligawasan Marsh as a protected area.

In yesterday’s 65th regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Chair of the Committee on Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Vicente C. Sorupia proposed a resolution supporting the proposal to declare the marsh within the territorial jurisdiction of the Cotabato Province as a protected area under the National Integrated

6 KID Scouts Confirmed Eagle Rank

Scout Nelson Caroro Jr., Scout Jay Lloyd Alocelja, Scout Neil Everson Cunanan, Scout Neil Anthony Morala, Scout Joelyn Segovia and Scout Anna Louella Toledo of Montgomery Training and advancement Program of Kidapawan Scouts were ceremoniously conferred their Eagle Scout award during the National Court of Honor on October 27, 2011, 1:00 pm at Quiñones Hall, Camp Bulatukan, Makilala, Cotabato.

2 Scouts makes history as 4 others joins MT. APO KIDS Eagles’ Perch

On the recently concluded National Board of Review held at Cotabato Council Board Room, Kidapawan City today, May 14, 2011, Scouts Joel Lynn A. Segovia and Anna Louella S. Toledo made history as the first two “Girl in Scouting” Eagle Scouts of Cotabato Council (or Eastern Mindanao Region?) while Jay Lyod B. Alocelja, Nelson A. Caroro, Neil Everson P. Rice farmers and intermediaries embrace ICT for rice farming

Some 30 farmer leaders and intermediaries were trained on accessing the wealth of information and knowledge on rice farming and production using the computer and the internet during the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training conducted on August 4-5, 2011 at Café Martina, USM Compound, Kabacan, North Cotabato.

The two-day training aimed to capacitate Agricultural Extension Workers and Farmer Leaders in making use of ICTs to their advantage to increase yield and income in rice farming.   Read more …

Abaca is making a comeback!

“Farmers should not only know how to plant abaca; they should also know how to make it more profitable by value-adding,” urged EngineerRamon M. Branzuela, the regional director of Fiber Industry Development Authority (FIDA) of Southern Mindanao.

Engr. Branzuela was talking to the participants of the abaca production seminar convened by the Mindanao Baptist Rural Life Center (MBRLC) Foundation, Inc. in cooperation with Cotabato Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (CARRDEC).   Read more…
